Tools support the K-5 teacher in observing the student's reading behavior and reflecting on the needs those behaviors indicate. The toolkit supports teachers in designing, facilitating and managing a learning environment that is risk-free and encourages positive relationships and collaboration.
The kit is compromised of tools designed to:
Encourage student interactions
Support teacher observations and provide suggested teacher responsiveness
Peer coaching, Constructive Conversations, Whole and Small Group PD, Prompting Cards, Personal Learning Goals and resources to support the transfer and ownership of skills and positive behaviors. Grade specific kits support students and teachers along a developmental continuum.
Watch the Video to see how hands-on teacher and student resources support responsive, student-centered teaching and learning. The Responsive Teaching Toolkit is a component of Benchmark Workshop, our brand new Workshop-model ELA program (and is available separately).
